On the 6th and\u00a0 7th of November, the URGENCI team hosted the 3rd European exchange in the framework of the\u00a0EU Food Security HUB<\/a>\u00a0project.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the two days of the meeting, participants from partner organizations \u2013\u00a0ACRA<\/a>\u00a0(Italy),\u00a0IASIS<\/a>\u00a0(Greece),\u00a0LAND<\/a>\u00a0(Italy),\u00a0ABD<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0EQU<\/a> (Spain), together with other local organizations invited by our partners, joined us in Lyon for this event. During this meeting, we had the opportunity to test the training material created during the project, but also to talk more about\u00a0Food Sovereignty\u00a0and the history of our movement.
\nWe critically analysed and discussed concepts such as\u00a0Circular Economy\u00a0and how to effectively advocate for\u00a0the\u00a0Right to Food\u00a0and\u00a0Social Justice in Food Systems.<\/span>
\nWe also enjoyed moments of discussion with\u00a0Food Accessibility\u00a0initiatives like\u00a0Territoires \u00e0 VivreS<\/a>, and\u00a0Caisse Alimentaire Lyon 8<\/a>\u00a0during our lunch at\u00a0La R\u00e9cup\u00e9ria<\/a>,\u00a0a committed and active association in the\u00a0fight\u00a0against food waste.
\nOn the second day, we had the pleasure of visiting the offices of\u00a0R\u00e9seau AMAP Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0MIRAMAP \u2013 Mouvement Inter-R\u00e9gional des AMAP\u00a0<\/a><\/span>and talk to the staff to learn about their work and their initiatives, especially regarding the topic of access to food, to show more about the world of AMAP and LSPAs.<\/p>\n

In recent years, this topic has been considered more and more important, yet it is clear that several factors are increasingly distancing citizens from their chosen food, such as\u00a0economic\u00a0and\u00a0financial\u00a0aspects, like in the case of\u00a0inflation, which has a heavy impact on the price of raw materials, or\u00a0lower incoms, but also because of\u00a0cultural\u00a0and\u00a0geographical\u00a0aspects, like in the case of areas where people have limited access to\u00a0healthy\u00a0and\u00a0nutritious\u00a0foods.<\/p>\n

It is, however, in this context that the\u00a0AMAP movement\u00a0has chosen to take up this question and to think about how to \u2018improve\u2019 in this regard,\u00a0tackling\u00a0food precarity\u00a0and all its triggering factors.

\nIn the evening, we were also able to visit the delivery of\u00a0AMAPopote<\/a>, seeing in action an AMAP directly dealing with the issue of food accessibility for all, that has put in place solidarity contracts to ensure that everyone can have access to fresh, seasonal, and quality food.<\/p>\n
