The\u00a0YOU(<\/strong>th<\/strong>) CARE project <\/strong>funded\u00a0under\u00a0the DEAR Programme (Development\u00a0Education and Awareness-Raising) aims\u00a0to\u00a0reinforce\u00a0the active citizenship and engagement\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0\u201cnext\u00a0generation\u00a0of Global Care takers\u201d, supporting\u00a0young\u00a0people in building a common\u00a0strategy\u00a0for a better\u00a0future.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0objective\u00a0of\u00a0the project is\u00a0to\u00a0strengthen and support\u00a0youth\u00a0initiatives and youth-led projects in the\u00a0different\u00a0countries\u00a0where\u00a0it\u00a0will be implemented. We\u00a0recognize\u00a0that\u00a0youth\u00a0is a crucial agent\u00a0of\u00a0change and plays a fundamental role in facing\u00a0today’s global challenges, which are the\u00a0consequence\u00a0of a multidimensional crisis: economic, political, social, cultural, health, environmental, and care, among\u00a0others.<\/p>\n

This project is\u00a0based\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0need\u00a0to place care at the center of\u00a0the\u00a0economic\u00a0system, recognizing\u00a0it as an\u00a0essential pillar of life. We\u00a0start\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0understanding\u00a0that human beings are interdependent\u00a0among\u00a0ourselves and eco-dependent\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0planet. Consequently, and with\u00a0the\u00a0desire\u00a0to\u00a0build a life worthliving, away\u00a0from\u00a0individualistic\u00a0approaches, we\u00a0seek\u00a0to\u00a0develop, collectively, a critical and politicized\u00a0vision\u00a0of care. We\u00a0believe\u00a0that\u00a0through\u00a0this\u00a0perspective\u00a0we can contribute\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0construction\u00a0of a more just and equitable\u00a0society.<\/p>\n

Historically, youth\u00a0have\u00a0played a fundamental role in building a better\u00a0world. They are, and we are, the\u00a0ones\u00a0who\u00a0still\u00a0have\u00a0their\u00a0whole\u00a0lives\u00a0ahead\u00a0of\u00a0them. The\u00a0energy, idealism and adaptability\u00a0that\u00a0characterize\u00a0young\u00a0people\u00a0make\u00a0them\u00a0key\u00a0players in driving\u00a0significant\u00a0changes in society, challenging\u00a0the status quo and opening\u00a0paths\u00a0to a more just and equitable future.<\/p>\n

In its\u00a0first\u00a0stages, the Project will\u00a0promote\u00a0the\u00a0setting up of\u00a0eight\u00a0Global Care Agendas<\/strong>, where\u00a0young\u00a0people\u00a0will\u00a0highlight\u00a0priorities and strategies\u00a0to cope with\u00a0the\u00a0multiple crises that\u00a0are affecting\u00a0our\u00a0territories, and the Global Community. We\u00a0will\u00a0apply a holistic\u00a0approach, as embedded in the\u00a0\u201cGlobal Care <\/strong>Approach<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013that\u00a0we\u00a0will\u00a0develop\u00a0during\u00a0the Project\u2013, will be implemented\u00a0throughout\u00a0the project, as from\u00a0the\u00a0initial\u00a0mapping\u00a0activity, aimed\u00a0to\u00a0identify\u00a0existing\u00a0youth-led\u00a0movements and initiatives\u00a0oriented\u00a0towards\u00a0diversity, inclusion and social and ecological\u00a0transition, with a particular focus\u00a0on\u00a0women’s\u00a0rights and gender\u00a0equity.<\/p>\n

The idea is, under a multidimensional perspective, to\u00a0understand\u00a0the\u00a0situation\u00a0of\u00a0youth\u00a0organizations\u00a0located in the\u00a0different\u00a0countries\u00a0involved in the project, to listen to\u00a0their\u00a0priorities, to\u00a0understand\u00a0their\u00a0challenges and to\u00a0problematize\u00a0them\u00a0collectively\u00a0shaping\u00a0them\u00a0into a \u201cGlobal Care Agenda\u201d that\u00a0we can then\u00a0present\u00a0to lobby and demand\u00a0changes in public\u00a0policies. In addition, different training materials\u00a0will be designed, webinars will be available\u00a0on\u00a0our virtual campus (https:\/\/community.youth-care.eu<\/a>) and accessible\u00a0to\u00a0anyone\u00a0interested in the global approach\u00a0to care, giving\u00a0the\u00a0opportunity\u00a0to\u00a0acquire\u00a0key\u00a0skills\u00a0to\u00a0deal with\u00a0complexity and change.<\/p>\n

Finally, international\u00a0Forums\u00a0<\/strong>will\u00a0take place in the final stages\u00a0of\u00a0the Project through\u00a0the active participation\u00a0of\u00a0youth-led organizations, groups and movements\u00a0involved in previous\u00a0activities. Advocacy\u00a0campaigns\u00a0on\u00a0gender\u00a0equity and social and ecological\u00a0transition\u00a0will\u00a0further\u00a0boost\u00a0public\u00a0awareness and strengthen\u00a0the role of Euro-Mediterranean\u00a0feminist and intersectional\u00a0youth\u00a0organizations and collectives as watchdogs, promoting\u00a0the\u00a0adoption\u00a0of a gender\u00a0perspective\u00a0by\u00a0institutional\u00a0decision-makers in dealing\u00a0with global changes.<\/p>\n
