{"id":332497,"date":"2023-05-31T10:04:11","date_gmt":"2023-05-31T08:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ripess.eu\/?p=332497"},"modified":"2023-06-15T10:59:27","modified_gmt":"2023-06-15T08:59:27","slug":"from-rojava-to-oxford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.eu.ripess.rio20.net\/en\/from-rojava-to-oxford\/","title":{"rendered":"Solidarity Economy Association (UK): From Rojava to Oxford"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our member the<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> S<a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.solidarityeconomy.coop\/\">olidarity Economy Association<\/a> <\/span>from the UK has sent us two very different reports:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first one is called :<br \/>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"http:\/\/www.socioeco.org\/bdf_fiche-document-9138_en.html\">WATER FOR ROJAVA 2022 Delegation report<\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>The Water for Rojava Committee went on a delegation to North and East Syria (NES, also known as Rojava) during the month of October, 2022. The delegation included members of Siemenpuu (Finland), Solidarity Economy Association (UK), Roots for Change (Switzerland), and a local friend for translation and logistical support. The main purpose of the delegation was to further develop relationships with relevant people and structures in NES, especially the women\u2019s economic structures (Aboriya Jin) and Water Departments (Desteya Av\u00ea), as well as to visit projects the Water for Rojava Campaign has supported; scope potential for future projects we might support, and other structures we might work with. We also aimed to facilitate, or understand the need or desire for training and education on relevant topics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0The second one is about the report of the experience of &#8220;Owned by Oxford&#8221; in the UK<br \/>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"http:\/\/www.socioeco.org\/bdf_fiche-document-9139_en.html\">Building Community Wealth from the Ground Up<\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Oxford has a wealth problem. There\u2019s no shortage of money in our city, it\u2019s just not fairly distributed. And that\u2019s a problem for everyone. Owned by Oxford is using community wealth building to address this problem. We\u2019re a partnership of grassroots community enterprises and infrastructure projects working with larger Oxford institutions, to test out and innovate new ideas. Our long-term vision is for a fair, democratic, and sustainable economy in Oxford, an economy owned and controlled by its community that puts people, planet and wellbeing before profit.
